It comes from the end of Daylight Saving Time. Every year in March people skip 2 o’clock in the morning. The time jumps from 1 o’clock to 3 o’clock. So, the sun sets one hour later.

So the mystery is solved! Every spring we lose an hour of night time so we get longer days. In the fall, we need to give that hour back.
