October is Fire Prevention Month. Let’s be safe from fires!

Have you ever been to a fire station? Fire fighters help us learn about fire safety. How can you be safe in a fire?

Be safe at school. Practice fire drills with your teacher. Listen for a loud bell. Then line up and leave the building. Meet in a safe place outside.

Be safe at home, too! Your home has a smoke detector. It
will warn you if there is a fire. Test the batteries to make sure they work.

Be careful with fire. Turn off the stove when you are done
cooking. Blow out candles. Keep matches away from young children.
