Temperature is
how hot or cold something is. Temperature can change water.
Look at the wave. The water flows and moves. This water is liquid. Water is liquid when the temperature is not very high or very low.

What do you think the temperature is in this place? It is very cold! Look at the icicles. They are frozen water. Low temperatures change water to solid ice.

This is a hot
spring [a natural pool of hot water] at Yellowstone National Park. Look at
the steam. When water is heated, it becomes water vapor. Water vapor is a gas.
At different temperatures, water can be a liquid,
a solid, or a gas.
What Do You Think? When might you see water as
a liquid, solid, or a gas?
