The Great Barrier Reef is over 1,000 miles long. It’s made
of about 2,900 reefs and 900 islands. Many animals live there! It’s home to
fish, sea turtles, giant clams, seahorses, sea snakes, stingrays, sharks, and
more.
Climate change can hurt the reef. When the ocean gets warmer, the coral changes color. Animals on the reef can die.

This animal is an orangutan. It lives in a place called Borneo.
People cut down trees where these animals live. In the last twenty years, half
their forest is gone. This means that there are not as many orangutans left.
