Growing Duckling

Look at the mother duck. She is taking care of her eggs. Soon the eggs will hatch into ducklings.

A duckling will have traits like its parents. A trait is how an animal looks, sounds, or acts.

The ducklings will have the same parts as their parents. They will have two legs, feathers, wings, and a beak. The ducklings will learn to swim and fly like their parents, too.

What sound does a duck make? Will the duckling make the same sound?

The duckling’s fuzzy feathers will change as it grows. The feathers will not be fuzzy. They will change colors.
