What does it mean to vote? Who can vote?

Imagine your class wants a pet. Some people want a hamster. Some want a fish. How can you decide? You can vote. Everyone says what they want. Then the votes are counted. The pet with the most votes win.

What does it mean to vote? Who can vote?

People in the United States vote to elect their leaders. Not
everyone in the United States can vote. You have to be a citizen of the United
States. You have to be 18 years old. You need to be registered to vote.

These people are helping people register to vote. When you are registered, you can vote. You can tell your choices for leaders. It makes a difference!
