You hear the word infrastructure in the news. But what does it mean? The infrastructure is all around you! It helps us every day. Our water supply and roads are part of the infrastructure. So are schools and bridges. The infrastructure is important.

We get energy
from the infrastructure. We can get energy from the wind and the sun.

Infrastructure helps us get from place to place. People travel on roads, bridges, and trains. Boats come into ports. Ports are part of the infrastructure.
