Your Shadow and the Sun

Did you know your shadow changes during the day? Your shadow changes because of the Sun. The Sun is in different places in the sky during the day. In the morning, the Sun is low in the sky. When the Sun is low in the sky, your shadow is long.

As the day gets closer to noon, the Sun is high in the sky. Your shadow is short. At noon, your shadow is under your feet. You can see it if you jump!

In the evening, the Sun is low in the sky. Your shadow is long again.
