Play Ball!
Have you ever wondered how to hit a baseball? It is just a matter of giving it a push. You can even hear the ball hit the bat.

The action of hitting a baseball has many objects in motion. The bat, the ball, and the player must move together. A hit happens when the player pushes the ball with the bat.

A player can hit the ball far or near. They use force to swing the bat. A light force will hit the ball close. This is called a bunt. A strong force will push the ball far. Homerun!
How Are They The Same? Other sports involve pushes with a player’s foot, stick, or racquet. Can you think of a different sport that involves pushes?
