Solar Energy – the Power of the Sun!

The Sun is a bright star. We see it during the day. We know it is important, but why? The Sun gives us light energy and heat energy. Energy from the Sun is called solar energy.

Look at this home. It has shiny panels on the roof. The panels use the Sun to create solar power. This solar power is used as electricity. It is used to turn on lights. It gives power to your oven. It can even charge phones.

The more solar panels there are, the more electricity is produced. The best thing about solar energy is that it does not pollute the environment. That’s why people call solar power “clean energy!”
