Whose Picture Is on Money?

Have you ever looked at money? What have you noticed?

Most coins and bills have people on them. Many were presidents. Others were important people in our history. New bills and coins have more diversity [different types of people from all types of backgrounds].

This is Anna May Wong. She was an Asian film star. Her image will be on a quarter. She is the first Asian American to appear on money. It is part of a special series of quarters. They celebrate American women.

Many people wanted Harriet Tubman’s image on money. She helped people escape slavery. Her image will replace President Andrew Jackson on the twenty-dollar bill. The new bill should be ready by the year 2030.
