It’s almost turkey day. So, let’s talk turkey! Amuse your family with some fun facts.

Male turkeys are called toms. Females are called hens. Only toms gobble. Hens make a clicking sound.

What are those funny parts on the turkey’s head? The snood is a flap of skin that hangs over the beak. A wattle is a flap of skin that hangs from the chin.

The snood and wattle can change color! They can tell how a turkey is feeling. When a turkey is excited, they turn red. When it’s scared, they turn blue. When a turkey does not feel well, they turn white.
