Forces [pushes and pulls] make cars move. A car’s engine pushes it forward. The engines of race cars are strong. A stronger engine gives a bigger push. A bigger push makes the car go faster.
Most cars are made of steel. Steel is heavy. Race cars are made of lighter materials. They are easier to push.

Air pushes against cars as they move. This can slow them down. Race cars are aerodynamic. This means that air flows easily around them. It helps them go fast!
