A Bumpy Ride

Have you ever flown on an airplane? Sometimes the ride can be bumpy. This might be scary. What is happening?

You are in rough patch of air. This is called turbulence. It makes the ride bumpy. It happens when the air is disturbed. This can be caused by mountains, storms, or winds.

Turbulence happens a lot. Pilots are trained for it. They know what to do. They will keep you safe. So, sit down. Fasten your seatbelt. You are in good hands.
