Follow the Sun

Did you know that plants can move? It’s true! No, they don’t have legs. But they can bend. They can grow. Some plants move toward water. Some move away from danger.

Many plants move toward the Sun. One side of the stem grows longer than the other. This makes the plant bend. It leans toward the Sun.

Have you ever seen a sunflower? Young sunflowers follow the Sun. The Sun moves across the sky each day. The sunflower bends. It always faces the Sun. This helps its leaves get light.
