Why Is Grass Wet in the Morning?

It didn’t rain last night. But the grass is wet. There are water drops on spider webs. Where did the water come from?

It came from the air! The drops of water are called dew. They are formed by condensation. Condensation happens when a gas changes to a liquid. Water vapor is a gas that is part of the air. Water vapor turns into liquid water.

Dew forms on clear nights. The ground cools. The grass cools. Cool air can hold less water vapor. Water drops form. They come right out of the air!

What Can You Do? Observe morning dew. What do you see?
