Keeping the Navajo Language Alive

There are many Navajo people in the United States. Many of them live in the Southwest. They have their own government. They even have their own language! 

Many people speak the Navajo language. But in the past, there were more Navajo speakers. Navajo teachers and leaders are working to keep the language alive. Navajo students are learning it in school!

In a family, children learn many things from their parents. They also learn from grandparents. Navajo families are the same. Navajo children learn about their culture. Knowing the Navajo language can help them learn more!

Language is an important part of Navajo culture. Language helps people communicate. Navajo children will keep their community going strong!
