Remembering Ella Jenkins 

Ella Jenkins was a musician. She made music for children. Have you heard “You’ll Sing a Song and I’ll Sing a Song” or “Miss Mary Mack”? Those are two of her most famous songs.

Jenkins began making music in the 1950s. She played the ukulele. Children liked to sing along to her music. Jenkins would sing a line. Then the children would sing back to her. This style made her songs fun for kids.

Ella Jenkins made music for almost 70 years. She recorded a lot of songs. She performed at schools and festivals. She was on children’s TV shows. She also won awards for her music. Jenkins made music that children loved.
