Where on Earth Are Australia and New Zealand?
The world has many amazing places. Let’s look at two of them. One is a country called Australia. The other is a country called New Zealand.

Australia is a very big country. It is also a continent. A continent is a large area of land. New Zealand is a much smaller country. It is made up of two main islands.

Many different animals live in Australia and New Zealand. Kangaroos live in Australia. Kangaroos are mammals. Kangaroos have long tails. They get around by jumping! Kiwis live in New Zealand. Kiwis are birds. They have long beaks. They can’t fly.

Australia and New Zealand are in the Southern Hemisphere. That means they are in the southern half of the Earth. The United States is in the northern half of the Earth. The seasons are different in the Southern Hemisphere. It’s winter in the United States. But it’s summer in Australia and New Zealand!
