Where on Earth Are the Canadian Rockies?

The Canadian Rockies are a group of mountains in Canada. They are part of the Rocky Mountains. These mountains are millions of years old. The Rocky Mountains are not just in Canada. They stretch all the way to New Mexico in the United States.

Bighorn sheep live in the Canadian Rockies. They can climb up to the top of very big mountains. Many other animals live in the area. Grizzly bears, moose, beavers, and wolves all live in the Canadian Rockies.

Moraine Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Canadian Rockies. Snow from the mountains around the lake melts in the summer. The melted snow fills the lake with water. The water in the lake is too cold to swim in!

The first people to live in the region call themselves the First Nations people. The horse is an important animal to many First Nations peoples. This piece of art is attached to a horse’s saddle. It is made of thousands of tiny beads!
