Get Ready to Ride!

Summer is almost here! It’s time to ride bikes.

How can you stay safe? That starts before your ride begins. You need a helmet that fits you. You need a bike that is your size. And you need to know safety rules.

Let’s get ready with some safety rules:

• Wear your helmet on EVERY bike ride.
• Wear bright colors. It helps drivers see you.
• Never ride at night.
• Ride with a buddy.

You are not ready for the road just yet!

• Stay on the sidewalk.
• Always cross at a corner or crosswalk.
• Before you cross, stop, look, and listen.

What Can You Do? Make a poster. Help other kids remember these safety rules.
