Where on Earth Is Tokyo? 

Tokyo is the capital city of Japan. It is a very busy city! But inside the city, there are also quiet places. One is a shrine called Meiji Jingu. People walk down a wide path. It is lined with tall trees.

Tokyo is on the island of Honshu. That is the biggest island in Japan. Many people live there!

Tokyo has tall buildings and big billboards. This photo shows a street in Tokyo. It is near the Shibuya Crossing. Many people walk here every day.  Everyone stops to wait for the signal before they cross. This shows that following rules helps the city stay safe and calm.

Tokyo is also known for food. One dish is called okonomiyaki. It is a pancake with vegetables and meat. Chefs make this dish as part of their work every day. It is also a food that has been enjoyed in Japan for many years.
