The bee hummingbird is the world’s smallest bird. Suppose you hold two raisins in your hand. That’s how much a bee hummingbird weighs! It is a little longer than a large paperclip.

Bee hummingbirds are only found in Cuba. They get their name from the sound their wings make. People think they sound like bumblebees. Bee hummingbirds eat nectar (sugary liquid made by plants) from flowers. They also eat insects and spiders.

Their nests are also small. They are about the size of a small paper cup. The female hummingbird lays two eggs. The eggs are about the size of a marble.
