National Lefthanders Day 

We use our hands to do different activities like writing or drawing.  

People who are right-handed like to use their right hand. People who are left-handed like to use their left hand.  

Most people are right-handed. Some people can use either hand! 

August 13th is National Lefthanders Day. We can learn about left-handed people around the world.

For a long time, many tools were only made for right-handers. This meant they might be difficult for left-handers to use.

Scissors were only made for right-handers. Using them in your left hand might make it harder to see what you are cutting.

Now tools are also made for left-handers. People can use left-handed scissors.

Paul McCartney is a famous musician. He is left-handed. 

When he started playing guitar, no left-handed guitar had been made. McCartney moved the strings of the right-handed guitar around. This meant he could play it left-handed!
