The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

Every October people come to Albuquerque, New Mexico. They come for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.

Why do balloons fly? They have hot air inside them. Hot air is lighter than cool air. There is cool air outside the balloon. So, the balloon with the lighter air rises. Some balloons use gas instead. The gas they use is lighter than air.

Balloons have different designs and shapes. People love to see all the different types of balloons. Each year almost one million people visit the festival.
