Lincoln’s family moved to Illinois. He worked in the government. He studied the law. In 1860, Lincoln won the election for President. Lincoln was the 16^th President. He was President during the Civil War. The War was between the North and the South. Lincoln wanted the country to be peaceful. He also wanted to end slavery.
