Lincoln’s family moved to Illinois. He worked in the government. He studied the law. In 1860, Lincoln won the election for President. Lincoln was the 16th President. He was President during the Civil War. The War was between the North and the South. Lincoln wanted the country to be peaceful. He also wanted to end slavery.
