September 15th to October 15th is Hispanic Heritage Month. Hispanic-Americans are people whose ancestors came from Spanish speaking countries. Let’s celebrate Hispanic-Americans!
Sylvia Mendez was 8 years old in 1943. She moved to California. Her family was from Mexico. She could not go to the same school as white children. Her family argued in court. They won. Now, Sylvia Mendez helps others. She wants everyone to have a good education.
