Diversity means differences. People are different in many ways. They come from different races and cultures. Some people have disabilities. Some people love people who are the same gender [identity as a man or woman]. There are many diverse athletes in the Olympics!
Megan Rapinoe plays for the U.S. women’s national soccer team. She helped her team win the World Cup in 2015 and 2019. Her team won gold at the 2012 London Olympics. She is engaged to marry Sue Bird. Sue Bird plays on the U.S. women’s basketball team.
