Some Americans spend one day each year helping others. This day is called the National Make a Difference Day. It is a special day. It happens in October. People work on projects on this day. They make their community a better place. Anyone can help.
How do people help? Some groups clean up parks. Others walk dogs at shelters. Many people plant trees. Some people collect food for others. They want to make their community a better place!
