It’s February 2nd. It’s Groundhog Day! Famous groundhogs are woken up from their winter sleep. Will they see their shadows? Will spring come early?
During winter groundhogs hibernate (spend the winter sleeping in a den or burrow). In winter, it is cold. There is less food for animals. Hibernating helps animals live through the winter.
